The Association of Writers in Iran in a statement called the people of Iran and all those who have the love of the culture in Iran to resist against the censorship and oppression !

The condition indicates that; organizations that are calling themselves the guardian of the fields of literary, art & cultural, social and individual freedom activities,in fact have prepared new plans to restrict it .
By not issuing the license for book, by dismantling the previous licenses and by not permiting for the publication of those books that have been previousely published and some of them even were printed for several times are the new face of restriction of freedom of thoughts and expression and harsher acts of censorship.
These days the parliamentary commission on culture have a plan to recall all the books that are based on their openions " have problem " . Same news can be seen in media In other fields such as Cinema, Theatre , music and .... .
The closure of internet sites , actions to restrict and close the student publications, implementation of censorship in media , attack on civil rights NGO's such as labor and student unions are other restriction to the social and individual rights.
The Association of Writers in Iran as an organization that have fought from the begining of its establishment against all kind of censorship of thought,expression and pen , calls the culture loving people of Iran to resist in any way they can against censor and oppression.
We ask all individuals and independent freedom loving organizations who are in agreement with this statement to announce their solidarity.
